An Ultimate Guide to Crowcombe Court

Wedding Venue

If you are looking to book a Crowcombe Court Wedding, then I am pleased to be able to give you some information about this beautiful, historic wedding venue.

As an approved supplier for Crowcombe Court, I know the venue very well. Its history, great rural location on the edge of the Quantock Hills – not far from Taunton, and it’s unique vibe make it one of the most popular wedding venues in the South West. As a Somerset wedding photographer, I have captured beautiful weddings at Crowcombe Court a number of times now. If you’re considering a wedding here, here are a few of my favourite Crowcombe tips!

With their capacity to accommodate up to 100 guests for civil ceremonies and 150 for evening receptions, Crowcombe Court is well-equipped to meet your wedding venue needs. There are 4 function rooms, a luxurious Honeymoon Suite, 12 additional bedrooms, 3 apartments, and gorgeous, so there is no shortage of space and beauty to ensure a memorable experience for your guests.

The Great Hall

The Great Hall is regularly used for civil ceremonies and can seat up to 100 guests. It has a grand and luxurious feel and there is a good flexibility on room configuration, making it easier to ensure that your ceremony is unique to you. The staircase leads down to the Great Hall, making it the perfect entrance for a bride or groom.

The Carew Room

The Carew Room is the perfect space for a more intimate wedding ceremony and doubles as the perfect option if an outdoor ceremony is not possible. It can also be used for drinks receptions, indoor games or more! Any overnight guests will have breakfast in this room the following morning.

The Victorian Ballroom

The Victorian Ballroom is most usually used for the Wedding Breakfast and can seat up to 100 guests. It boasts high ceilings, beautiful chandeliers and a picturesque fireplace and, is a bit of a dream for photographers due to the amount of natural light!

The Gazebo

The beautiful gazebo is situated between Crowcombe Court and the Quantock Hills. This really is the perfect place for your outside ceremony

The Vaulted Undercroft

The Vaulted Undercroft at Crowcombe Court is often described by guests as ‘your own private nightclub’. Bands or DJs are able to set up in this unique location ahead of the celebrations upstairs. Adjacent to the party room is The Quantock Bar and this is fully stocked with a good range of beers, ciders, wines and spirits. It is also usually where the evening buffet is served.

The Honeymoon Suite

This gorgeous bedroom includes a super-king 4 poster bed, relaxing sofa, and luxurious bathroom and is available for newlyweds on their wedding night as part of their wedding package. I love the two large windows as it provides some beautiful light. It is also a great alternative to the Getting Ready room and is the place where I get up high to take the overhead group guest photograph from!

The Getting Ready Room

The Gallery

One of the newer locations at Crowcombe Court, this is the second of the two getting ready rooms. It is up a few flights of stairs, whilst the first getting ready room is down in the basement of the building – meaning neither side runs the risk of glimpsing each other before the ceremony! In contrast to the soft light tones of the downstairs room, the gallery consists of wooden floors, brown leather sofas and a pool table.

The Food at Crowcombe Court

Denis Turner, Crowcombe Court’s talented Head Chef together with his accomplished team create the most wonderful food for your wedding. I am well-placed to confirm this thanks to the couple’s who kindly provide me with a suppliers meal!

They use fresh ingredients from local suppliers where possible, and cater for all types of diet. Denis has designed a variety of delicious seasonal food options and you can view an example menu here.

Wedding Photography at Crowcombe Court

Whether it be the gorgeous feature window which overlooks the staircase and great hall, the majestic driveway or the multi-coloured hydrangeas which grow on the front lawn, there is no shortage of varied areas to take the couple shots for a wedding.
